Product Design and Materials

The four-point contact ball structure allows a single ball row to carry axial, radial, and tilting moment loads simultaneously, which keeps the overall section compact at 56 mm height while meeting the load demands of mid-size crane slewing sections.

Ring material is 50Mn or 42CrMo4 alloy steel, quenched and tempered for core toughness. Raceways are induction-hardened to 55–62 HRC, providing fatigue resistance under repeated shock loads. GCr15 bearing steel balls deliver consistent hardness across the rolling path. Double-lip NBR seals retain grease and block contaminants throughout the -25 to +80 °C operating range.

The internal gear uses a normalized (N) tooth profile with module 6 and 76 teeth. The pinion meshes inside the ring bore, keeping the drive assembly within the bearing footprint and reducing the radial space required compared to external-gear designs. Continuous tooth force is 23.7 kN; peak tooth force is 35.0 kN per Schaeffler medias official data.

The VSI200544-N raises static axial capacity to 870 kN within the same 56 mm section height as the VSI200414-N (C0a 660 kN, m5/z67, 31 kg, 325 × 486 × 56 mm). The mounting interface, however, is size-specific: the 414 uses 24 holes on 460 / 375, the 544 uses 32 holes on 590 / 505. Fitting this size in place of the 414 requires the mounting flange to be re-machined or re-checked.

Application Areas

· Cranes and Lifting Platforms – Mid-size mobile cranes and tower cranes employ internal-gear rings at the 544 mm raceway band when the 414 mm band is load restricted. The m6/z76 gear is designed to manage the greater swing driving torques of these machines.

· Excavators and Construction Excavator — This bearing is used in conjunction with an inside swing pinion in excavator swing systems in the 20-tonne class. The C0a 870 kN static margin absorbs the digging shock loads without any damage to the raceway.

· Wind Turbine Yaw Systems – The sealed four-point design is ideal for mid-size turbine yaw rings powered by internal pinions and functions across the complete temperature range.

·Solar Trackers – The larger tracker drive heads have the 544 mm raceway for increased tilt-moment capacity with small internal pinion drives.

· Radar and Antenna Platforms – Internal-gear rings, operated by a central pinion, rotate enormous radar dishes and satellite antennas in steady, low-clearance motion.

Rotary Indexing Tables: Process equipment turntables retain drive inside table footprint; precision options P5 and P6 provide exact angular positioning.

FAQ

Q: What is VSI200544-N?

A: It’s an INA VSI Standard 20 series, internal-gear, four-point contact ball slewing ring. Main dimensions: bore 444 mm, OD 616 mm, height 56 mm, weight 41.3 kg, raceway diameter 544 mm.

Q: What are the specs on the equipment?

A: Inside gear, module 6, 76 teeth, pitch diameter 456 mm, normalised (N) tooth profile. Tooth force continuous 23.7 kN Peak 35.0 kN (Schaeffler medias official data)

Q: What is the difference between VSI200544-N and VSI200414-N?

A: They both have 56 mm section height. VSI200544-N 544 mm raceway (444 × 616 × 56 mm, 41.3 kg, m6/z76, C0a 870 kN). The VSI200414-N is equipped with a 414 mm raceway (325 x 486 x 56 mm, 31 kg, m5/z67, C0a 660 kN). If you want a larger static capacity within the same mounting environment, use the VSI200544-N.

Q. What precision and clearance choices are available to you?

A: 0-0.3 mm. Precision classes are available: P0, P6 and P5. Reduced-clearance and preloaded versions available on request.

Q: Can it be used with other VSI Standard 20 series bearings?

A: Not as a straight substitute. The VSI200544-N has the same 56 mm section height as the other Standard 20 series sizes but each size has its unique bore, bolt circles and hole count. The 414 has 24 holes on 460 / 375 and the 544 has 32 on 590 / 505. A direct dimensional replacement is just a unit with the same designation.

Q: How often should I lubricate?

A: For large equipment such as cranes and excavators, it is a regular practice to re-lubricate the raceway every 100 hours of operation. In high humidity or constant rotation applications an automated lubrication system assists in flushing out old grease and impurities.
